The Republic of Moldova will participate in the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
The Republic of Moldova will participate in the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), which will take place between January 22-26, in Strasbourg, the Chisinau Parliament announces in a press release.
The legislative of our country will be represented by the deputy Ion Groza, the vice-presidents of the Parliament Mihail Popșoi and Vlad Batrîncea, as well as by the deputies Natalia Davidovici and Adela Răileanu.
The session will discuss recent developments in the Middle East, cases of torture in European detention facilities, improper use of the legal system, freedom of the media and security of journalists, globalization during times of crisis and war, abuse of children in institutions in Europe, the situation of children in Ukraine, the trials in Belarus, the elections in Serbia, etc.
Also, during the winter session, the new PACE president and vice-presidents, as well as the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, will be elected.
We remind that the Republic of Moldova has been a member of the Council of Europe since 1995.
