Their primary targets were high-priority zones designated as "Urgența 1" and "Urgența 2," which encompass areas like bridges, slopes, and ramps particularly susceptible to hazardous ice accumulation.

"Video surveillance and ground patrols confirmed diligent activity by sanitation crews who deployed plowing and gritting operations extensively within these priority districts," declared a spokesperson for the Bucharest Local Police on Saturday morning.

Beyond ensuring thorough snow removal, officers also conducted proactive checks for any individuals struggling with the harsh conditions, particularly those experiencing homelessness. While seven individuals were identified and offered temporary refuge in social centres, some elected to remain outdoors. Nonetheless, police patrols maintained close monitoring of these individuals, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the snow event.
