The access road to Leușeni customs, blocked again by farmers

The access road to the Leușeni border crossing point has been blocked starting at 8:50. The traffic was interrupted in the context of protests organized by farmers. It is the third day this week that protesters have blocked this access road.

The Border Police and the Customs Service recommend travelers to opt in advance for the PTF Sculeni, PTF Costești or PTF Leova-Bumbăta (working hours 08:00 - 20:00), to avoid possible inconveniences and delays .

We remind you that on Wednesday, the farmers gave an ultimatum to the authorities, requesting a tripartite meeting - Presidency, Parliament, Government. Otherwise, they threatened to block customs points.

The farmers announced that they will go to the Parliament today to talk with the decision-makers. On the other hand, the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, said on a TV8 show that he will not talk to the farmers and that they should only talk to the Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea.

We mention that, today, the protesters are invited to the Ministry of Agriculture, at 1:00 p.m., for a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture Vladimir Bolea and Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

The main demands of the farmers are the distribution of diesel fuel donated by Romania and the allocation of compensation per hectare for corn and sunflower crops.
