Ukraine // Two localities in the Kupiansk district will be forcibly evacuated, as a result of the Russian army's offensive
Two towns in the Kupiansk district will be forcibly evacuated as a result of the Russian army's offensive, announced the head of the Department of Civil Defense within the Military Administration in the Kharkiv region, Ivan Socol, reports Agerpres.
According to the quoted source, the mandatory evacuation of the population of Kindrashivka and Kurylivka is imposed as a result of the refusal of the locals to leave the villages, despite the imminent military risks.
"The mandatory evacuation of the population from some localities in the Kupiansk district continues. In addition, the mandatory evacuation of the residents of Kindrashivka and Kurylivka was announced. (...) The population that evacuated from that area wants to stay on the territory of Kharkiv region. It's their homeland and they don't want to leave. Here I am talking about those who were evacuated by us. Those who evacuated on their own, a part stayed in the Kharkiv region, and another part left," said Socol, in a briefing.
So far, 4,050 people, including 710 children, were evacuated from the Kupiansk district.
