The competition for the position of general prosecutor was cancelled. The decision was taken by the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) during the meeting on Wednesday, February 28.
We remind you that on Thursday, February 22, Octavian Iachimovschi was appointed by the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) for the position of general prosecutor. He got the highest score in the interview test - 8.53. The current interim general prosecutor, Ion Munteanu got 8.16 points, the prosecutor Igor Demciucin - 8.19 points, and the jurist Eugen Coca got 4.72 points.
The position of general prosecutor became vacant after Alexandr Stoianoglo was evaluated unsatisfactory by a special commission of the SCP, and was later dismissed by presidential decree.
The term for selecting the new prosecutor general expires in March. We remind that, during the last 2 years, the interim position of general prosecutor was provided by Dumitru Robu and Ion Munteanu.
