Experience the Cultural Significance: Martisor Coin Unveiled by NBM

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) is commencing the circulation of the "Martisor - symbol of spring" coin, beginning on March 1st, to complete the series "Holidays, culture, traditions of Moldova".

Governor Anca Dragu of the NBM emphasises that the bank issued this coin to highlight the significance of Martisor. "We encourage you to recognize this unique symbol, which connects us through tradition. Today, NBM presents a special Martisor. It transcends mere craftsmanship in precious metal, as it holds a place of distinction on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. We hope this coin will bring you joy and serve as a reminder of the cultural richness and beauty inherent in our national traditions," states Anca Dragu.

The coin dedicated to Martisor is crafted from silver, featuring a colourful design, and has been issued in a limited circulation of 1,200 units.

Moreover, each coin is meticulously encased in a transparent methacrylate capsule and presented in an ornate box, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity featuring a QR code. Upon scanning, this code seamlessly redirects to the NBM's official webpage, providing comprehensive details regarding the coin's distinctive attributes. Notably, the certificate of authenticity bears the signature of the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.
