Moldova Hosts Francophonie Conference
According to a press release issued by the Moldovan Parliament, parliamentarians from around 20 European countries will visit the Republic of Moldova from March 17 to 21 to participate in the Conference of Presidents of the European Region of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF).
The discussions will focus on the issue of disinformation in the Francophone space, including in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the effects of fake news on the work of parliaments. A report on the current state and presence of the Francophonie in Moldova will also be presented. Participants will discuss the impact of the war in Ukraine and how the European Union is responding to foreign interference.
The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova has been an associate member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie since 1998.
