Ukraine Claims 430K+ Russian Casualties in War
Russia has lost 430,740 soldiers in Ukraine since the beginning of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on March 17, as reported by The Kyiv Independent.
This number includes 1,160 losses suffered by Russian forces in the past day alone.
According to the report, Russia has also lost:
- 6,790 tanks
- 12,997 armoured fighting vehicles
- 14,073 vehicles, including fuel tanks
- 10,634 artillery systems
- 1,017 multiple-launch rocket systems
- 720 air defence systems
- 347 aircraft
- 325 helicopters
- 8,272 drones
- 26 ships and boats
- and one submarine
The Ukrainian military acknowledges that the number of Russian casualties is likely much higher, as accurately counting the dead and wounded in wartime conditions is inherently difficult.
