Alleged Drone Attack in Tiraspol Sparks Fear: Authorities Investigate

Update: The incident involving an alleged drone attack purportedly destroying a helicopter at a military unit in Tiraspol is deemed "an attempt to instil fear and panic in the region."

According to the Reintegration Policy Bureau, authorities in Chisinau, in contact with the Ukrainian side, do not confirm any attack on the Transnistrian region.

"The Reintegration Policy Bureau has liaised with other public authorities of the Republic of Moldova, and following scrutiny of video footage and information exchange, we assert that the aforementioned incident is an endeavour to sow fear and panic in the region. The military equipment depicted in the footage has been non-operational for several years," as cited by the source.

Original Report: On Sunday, March 17, a conflagration erupted at one of the military units in Tiraspol, as announced by the press from the left bank of the Dniester.

According to regional press accounts, preliminary findings indicate that the explosion was the outcome of a kamikaze drone attack, whose flight path was recorded from the side of the Klever Bridge.

No casualties have been recorded. The purported authorities have announced the commencement of a criminal investigation.

It is noteworthy that authorities in Chisinau have refrained from commenting on the incident thus far.
