Moldova, Italy to Recognize Driver's Licences
The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a decision to initiate the negotiation of an agreement with Italy on the mutual recognition of driving licences for conversion.
The agreement will allow holders of driving licences issued by the authority of one party, who establish residency in the other country, the right to convert their driving licences without taking theoretical and practical exams, with certain exceptions.
"Holders of driving licences will have the right to convert their driving licences only if they have been resident in the other country for at least six years at the time of submitting their conversion application. This opportunity will benefit approximately 300 thousand citizens of the Republic of Moldova living in Italy, including those who are naturalised or have dual citizenship," said Interior Minister Adrian Efros at the Government meeting.
