Between January 9 and 15, 190 cases of seasonal flu were registered in the Republic of Moldova, and three people lost their lives, the National Agency for Public Health announces. Also, in the same period, 11,934 cases of acute upper respiratory infections (IACRS) were reported, a decrease of 5.1% compared to the previous week.
"In the ANSP laboratories, in the week of 02/2023, 81 samples were investigated by the biological molecular method - 81 samples, for the presence of influenza, non-influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses, of which 47 samples were positive,” ANSP reports.
According to the Agency, the process of immunisation against seasonal flu continues in public medical and sanitary institutions in the country. ANSP recommends simultaneous vaccination against seasonal flu and the infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
At the same time, it is recommended to medical institutions to monitor and permanently evaluate the epidemiological situation with influenza, to check and replenish the stocks of medicines for the treatment of patients with seasonal influenza.
