New drone remains, found in Vulcănești, 500 meters from the Moldovan-Ukrainian border
Fragments of a destroyed drone were found in the afternoon of April 4, near the town of Etulia-Vlădiceni in Vulcănești district. According to the Border Police, the remains were found approximately 500 meters from the Moldovan-Ukrainian border line. On the wing of the drone was written "Герань-2". They are manufactured in the Russian Federation and can carry explosives weighing up to 45 kg.
Competent authorities immediately came to the scene, and access to the area was restricted. Currently, the remains of the drone are being analyzed by specialists who have not found any risks yet.
In this context, the Border Police urges citizens to inform themselves from the first source to prevent the spread of fake information and to avoid panic among the population.
We remind you that since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, fragments of drones or missiles have been detected on the territory of our country several times. The most recent case happened on February 11, where components of a "Shahed" type drone with a load containing about 50 kg of explosive substance were found near the town of Etulia, Vulcănești district.
We remind that the Chisinau authorities have repeatedly condemned Russia's unjustified attacks against Ukraine, which have affected the Republic of Moldova.
