Maia Sandu, about the CCM decision: United for a European Moldova, we will succeed in achieving our common goal

President Maia Sandu reacted after the Constitutional Court decided that the referendum on EU accession is constitutional and that it can take place on October 20, the same day as the presidential elections. According to the head of state, the Republic of Moldova needs unity, the involvement of every party, civic organization, citizen to guarantee peace and well-being for Moldovans.

"We need unity, we need the involvement of every party, civic organization, citizen, so that together we can guarantee peace and well-being for Moldovans. United for a European Moldova, we will succeed in achieving our common goal - for Moldovans to live in peace, dignity and freedom in a strong European country", said Maia Sandu.

We remind you that the Constitutional Court gave the green light for the organization of the republican constitutional referendum on the European integration of the Republic of Moldova into the EU. CCM magistrates approved the draft law, developed by PAS deputies.

The question to which the Moldovans will answer is: "Are you for the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union?". Likewise, the Constitution is to be supplemented with a new title: "Integration in the European Union".

The President of the Constitutional Court, Domnica Manole, declared on Tuesday, April 16, that the initiative to revise the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova through a referendum, signed by 46 members of the Parliament, is presented by the authorized subject and in this sense complies with the provisions of the Constitution and meets the time limits of review established by law.

Also, the initiative to revise the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova through a referendum does not exceed the material limits of revision of the Constitution established by the Constitution and can be presented to the Parliament for consideration.

"This opinion is final, it cannot be subject to any appeal, it enters into force on the date of its adoption and is published in the Official Monitor of the Republic of Moldova", concluded Domnica Manole.
