Moldova Gas Prices Down: Moldovagaz Requests Tariff Reduction

Moldovagaz, a natural gas supplier in Moldova, has formally requested the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) to revise the natural gas tariff.

The supplier is proposing a reduction in the price for household consumers to 12.2 lei, excluding VAT. This represents a decrease of 1.19 lei or 8.9% compared to the current price.

"The draft tariff for the supply of natural gas to final consumers at regulated prices in 2024 was developed in strict compliance with relevant legislation," Moldovagaz stated in a press release. "The revised tariff will cover the cost of natural gas purchases, ensuring fulfilment of contractual payment obligations to the supplier."

The last adjustment to gas tariffs was made on February 21st of this year. At that time, gas prices fell from 16.73 lei to 13.39 lei, excluding VAT, per cubic metre of gas. The current tariff remains in effect.
