Moldova Boosts Energy Sector with Norway

A Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of energy between Moldova and Norway will be signed on Tuesday, May 7th, in Oslo.

The Moldovan Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, announced the signing during a press briefing. The document aims to strengthen Moldovan-Norwegian cooperation in the energy sector and create mutually beneficial investment opportunities.

"Norway will be among the countries supporting energy efficiency financing programs in the residential sector," Minister Parlicov said. "They will also provide assistance programs for vulnerable families to replace their old, energy-inefficient equipment with modern appliances. This memorandum covers not only this cooperation, but also much more. We see a significant potential for collaboration, including attracting private Norwegian investments to Moldova and benefiting from Norway's experience in implementing state-level programs."

Moldovan President Maia Sandu is currently on a state visit to Norway from May 6th to 7th. Her delegation includes Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi and Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi.
