More young French study medicine in Romania
More and more French choose to study in Romania. In search of a degree recognized at the European level, the almost one thousand young people are happy to be students at the University of Medicine in Iasi. They also have the opportunity to study in French. The students say that they like the Romanian language and that it is easy for them to understand the teachers.
A challenge for young French people is the entrance exam to the University of Medicine. The number of students from France in Iași has increased three times in the last decade, and for 15 years the courses have also been taught in French, which makes their studies easier.
“I studied the first year of medicine in Reunion, which ended in failure. That's why I came to Romania, so I could follow my dream of becoming a doctor."
"The Romanian language is of Latin origin and easy to understand. There are similar words, so we have the opportunity to learn, together with teachers, through contact with patients and over the years, standard phrases and also how to manage a complete clinical examination in each specialty, in Romanian."
"We have to revise the courses at the University. Then there are exams that we have to take in French, so we are not far from what is taught in France."
