Finnish analyst: Russia will not abandon its attempts to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova

Russia will not abandon its attempts to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova, and this is the main challenge for our country. The opinion was expressed by the senior analyst from the Finnish Institute of International Relations, Ryhor Nizhnikau, an expert on Russian policy in the post-Soviet space, in the show "Scanner" on Moldova 1. According to the analyst from Finland, Moscow will grant increased attention, not to the presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova, but to the parliamentary ones, which will take place next year.

"Russia is preparing for parliamentary elections. I would even say that for Russia it is not so important to remove Sandu (red: the president of the country, Maia Sandu), the referendum is not so important. All this is important in the context of the parliamentary elections. The change of power in any way, for Russia, for Moscow, is the main priority in this direction," said Ryhor Nizhnikau, an analyst from Finland.

You can watch the full interview about the methods that Russia uses in its attempts to destabilize the situation in the Republic of Moldova and about our country's prospects in the process of joining the European Union on Sunday, May 26, on Moldova 1 TV, starting at 19:15.
