The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, urges Moldovans with European citizenship to participate in the European Parliament elections, which will take place between June 6-9. The head of state claims that the vote of Moldovan citizens for a European Parliament that supports the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union "is important for the whole country".
"Dear Moldovans, I am addressing those who already have European citizenship, whether they have a Romanian, Bulgarian, Italian, French or another EU state passport. Between June 6-9, the European Parliament elections are held, and the vote of the Moldovans for a European Parliament that supports the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU is important for the whole country. (…) On June 9, go to the polls to decide the composition of the next European Parliament!", the president wrote in a message on social networks.
We remind that almost one million Moldovans, who hold European citizenship, including that of Romania, will have the opportunity to directly influence the decisions of the European Union (EU).
In the Republic of Moldova, elections will be held on June 9, in 52 polling stations, all over the country, of which 13 - in Chisinau. Their number has increased significantly compared to 2020, when 36 were opened in the Republic of Moldova.
