Your Guide to European Parliamentary Elections: Polling Stations and Voting Procedures
The Embassy of Romania in Chisinau hereby announces that, in the context of the upcoming European parliamentary elections on Sunday, June 9th, no polling stations will be established at the Embassy headquarters or at the Romanian Cultural Institute *"Mihai Eminescu." *
The nearest polling stations are situated at "Gheorghe Asachi" High School - three stations, "Spiru Haret" High School - three stations, Moldova State University - two stations, and the "Satiricus" Theater - one station.
In Chisinau, voters have the opportunity to cast their votes at any of the 13 designated polling stations.
It is important to note that for the European Parliament elections scheduled for Sunday, June 9th, 2024, a total of 52 polling stations will be operational throughout the Republic of Moldova. These will comprise 28 stations in the Central area, 17 in the north, and 7 in the south of the Republic of Moldova.
The voting period commences at 07:00 and concludes at 22:00. Voters who find themselves at the polling station headquarters at 22:00, as well as those queuing outside the polling station to access the voting room, are entitled to exercise their right to vote until 23:59, local time, in accordance with legal provisions.
Romanian citizens eligible to vote, whether residing, having residency, or temporarily abroad, may participate in the elections at any overseas polling station. This can be done by presenting a valid Romanian identity document on the day of voting. Acceptable documents include the identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, simple passport, electronic simple passport, temporary simple passport, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport, and military service card for students from military schools.
It is expressly prohibited to use a travel document for voting in the European Parliament elections on June 9th, 2024.
