Police Probe: Teen Fatally Shoots Himself with Father's Gun
A 15-year-old boy has died after allegedly shooting himself with his father's weapon.
The tragic incident occurred on the evening of June 8 in a village in the Rezina district. The General Inspectorate of Police (GIP) reports that law enforcement was alerted by the boy's father.
According to the cited source, the father of the teenager, a 44-year-old man, called emergency service 112. Preliminary findings indicate that the boy ended his life using his father's legally owned weapon, which was kept in a safe according to established norms. The child is believed to have found the keys to the safe, from which he took the hunting weapon and a cartridge, according to the GIP.
Law enforcement makes a repeated appeal to parents to maintain continuous communication with their children, be cautious about where they store prohibited items, and monitor how their children spend their time, especially teenagers.
