Ukraine Repels Russian Missile Strike on Kyiv
Early Wednesday morning, Russia launched a missile and drone strike against Kyiv. Ukrainian air defences successfully intercepted the attack, with no reported casualties or damage in the capital, as reported by Reuters.
According to preliminary reports, Russia utilised a combination of cruise and ballistic missiles, along with drones, in the attack. The full extent of the attack remains unclear.
Air raid sirens wailed across Ukraine for several hours, beginning shortly after midnight GMT and encompassing regions bordering NATO member Poland.
As a precautionary measure, Polish jets were scrambled in response to the attack, according to a statement from the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command on social media.
