Stay Safe in Storms! Moldova Issues Public Warning
Heavy rain and storms caused damage across central Moldova on June 11th.
Emergency services responded to numerous incidents, including a woman trapped in her car by a fallen tree in Orhei and a man injured by a fallen tree in Chisinau. Rescue teams focused on removing fallen trees and downed power lines, with reports of at least 55 calls for assistance nationwide.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations urges the public to avoid going under power lines or near low-hanging branches during unstable weather and to exercise caution while travelling to prevent injuries.
