Double Check: Moldova Launches Post-Census Survey
Following the conclusion of the 2024 Population and Housing Census, a supplementary "post-census survey" will be conducted in select locations across the country.
This survey will revisit some of the questions posed during the census, with the aim of verifying the completeness of the population count (coverage) for residents with habitual residence, as well as ensuring the accuracy of certain data gathered during the census itself.
Officials from the National Institute of Statistics will be responsible for administering the survey. These census workers will visit a representative sample of households within designated areas to complete a shorter questionnaire compared to the one used in the main census. The specific locations chosen for the post-census survey are not being disclosed to the public in order to maintain the independence of the two data collection exercises.
The 2024 Population and Housing Census is taking place between April 8 and July 7, while the post-census survey is scheduled to be conducted from July 15 to August 4.
