Nicolae Botgros, conductor of the "Lăutarii" Orchestra, turns 70

The artistic director and first conductor of the "Lăutarii" national folk music orchestra, Nicolae Botgros, People's Artist, turns 70 today, reports Moldpres.

Called a genius of the violin, the artist brought the fame of fame music to dozens of European countries, the United States of America, Australia, New Zealand as well as the states of the ex-Soviet space. He is the holder of the title People's Artist and Knight of the Order of the Republic. He was also named an Honorary Citizen of the city of Bârlad in Romania. In 2002, master Botgros was declared the conductor of the best folk music orchestra in the entire Romanian area. Throughout his career, he was the conductor of hundreds of singers from the Republic of Moldova and Romania: Nicolae Sulac, Zinaida Julea, Lidia Bejenaru, Maria Ciobanu, Sofia Vicoveanca, Irina Loghin, with whom he recorded over 200 CDs.
