European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement reaffirmed in Chisinau the European Union's support for democratic values and the rule of law
On a visit to Chisinau, the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement reaffirmed the European Union's support for democratic values and the rule of law. Respect for democratic principles is one of the essential conditions that must be met in the EU accession negotiations, the European Commissioner said during meetings at the Parliament.
According to a press release from the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, Olivér Várhelyi met, on Wednesday, July 10, with the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, members of the PAS Party, the Socialist Party and the Communist Party of the Republic of Moldova.
The agenda of the visit also includes the participation of the European Commissioner at the signing of a Financing Agreement for an investment grant worth about EUR 9.9 million for the "Green Economy Financing Facility in the Residential Sector" (Residential GEFF), to be implemented by BERD.
