Republic of Moldova, under Yellow Code: meteorologists forecast temperatures of up to -7°C

The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has announced a Yellow Code warning due to a significant drop in temperatures across the country, effective January 11. Meteorologists predict that the average daily air temperature will decrease by 5-7°C starting on that date.

In the northern regions, snowfall is expected in the coming days, and ice may form on the roads during the night, according to meteorological forecasts.

We remind you that in recent days, thermometers have recorded temperatures as high as +14°C during the day and +5 to +6°C at night. Meteorologists described these high temperatures as unusual for this time of year. However, agricultural experts informed the Public Broadcaster "Teleradio-Moldova" that the unusual weather conditions will not adversely affect crops.
