NATO Summit: Mihai Popșoi reconfirmed the interest of the Republic of Moldova for the Alliance's assistance in reforming the security and defense sector

The interest of the Republic of Moldova for the expertise and assistance of the North Atlantic Alliance in reforming and modernizing the security and defense sector of the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with international standards, was reiterated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi, in his speech at the summit of the Alliance in Washington.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 12, Mihai Popșoi spoke about the developments related to regional security, the risks and effects generated by the war in Ukraine, the challenges to the security of the Republic of Moldova.

The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the solid support for Ukraine reconfirmed at the NATO Summit.

"The support offered to Ukraine is also support for the Republic of Moldova. Solidarity will bring peace back to the region and throughout Europe," said Mihai Popșoi.

The foreign minister's visit to the USA took place between July 9-11.
