Maia Sandu encourages Moldovan citizens in Ireland to continue promoting our country
The Republic of Moldova is changing through the investments we are already making - in roads, kindergartens, schools and hospitals, in our villages and cities. The statement was made by President Maia Sandu during a meeting with the Irish diaspora. The Head of State encouraged Moldovan citizens in this country to continue promoting the image of the Republic of Moldova and Moldovan traditions.
"Ireland is a country that proves that economic development and improved quality of life can bring people back home, even after decades spent abroad. Our Moldovan community here in Ireland fully understands that the European path generates opportunities; they had the opportunity to convince themselves by the Irish example. I thanked them for supporting and promoting the path chosen by our country and for the way they are involved in the development of the country", said Maia Sandu.
The president also mentioned that she was happy to meet our citizens who, through hard work, started businesses that promote our country and products.
"They manage, through daily efforts, over many years, to form the image of a hardworking and honest people," the president wrote on the Facebook page. President Maia Sandu encouraged the diaspora from Ireland to participate in the "Diaspora Invest" event, organized by the Investment Agency, "to lay the foundations for new ways through which we can develop the country, together."
We remind that, while on a working visit to Dublin, the Head of State discussed with the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, and the Irish Prime Minister, Simon Harris, about the ever closer relations between our countries, about the community of Moldovans who contribute to the economies of both countries and about the firm steps that Moldova is taking towards membership of the European Union.
