Petru Rotaru Resigns as Finance Minister for Vice-Governor Post
Petru Rotaru is stepping down from his role as Minister of Finance. Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced this decision. According to the National Bank of Moldova, Petru Rotaru will assume the position of vice-governor.
“I extend my gratitude to Mr. Petru Rotaru for his contributions at the Ministry of Finance, his energetic participation in the Government team, and his successful achievement of the Ministry's objectives related to the execution of the state budget. Petru has strengthened relationships with the business community, central public administration institutions, and has been a supportive friend to local communities,” stated Prime Minister Recean.
Petru Rotaru will continue his professional work at the National Bank of Moldova, as announced by the Prime Minister. Until his candidacy is confirmed by Parliament, he will remain in his role as Minister of Finance.
Anca Dragu, Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), has submitted to Parliament a proposal to appoint Petru Rotaru, currently Minister of Finance, as vice-governor of the central bank.
