Government Finalizes Apartment Transfer for Chernobyl Responders

The process of receiving applications for the transfer of apartments from the residential block located at 91/3 Alba Iulia Street, Chișinău, designated for the heroes who participated in addressing the consequences of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident, has been concluded.

A total of 86 applications have been registered. These will be reviewed in accordance with the Regulation approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

Between June 10 and July 24, 2024, the 86 applications were submitted by individuals involved in the response to the Chernobyl accident. Members of the Transfer Commission will notify applicants personally regarding the outcomes of the application reviews and the decisions made. Updated information on this matter will also be available on the official website of the ministry.

Remember: On April 17, 2024, the cabinet of ministers approved a project long-awaited by those involved in the Chernobyl response. This document stipulates the free transfer of 80 fully finished and equipped apartments, including essential items such as heating boilers, bathroom fixtures, and stoves, from state property to the private property of those involved in addressing the consequences or their families.

The recipients of these apartments will be selected based on applications submitted to a special Commission established for this purpose. The primary eligibility criterion is the lack of ownership of an apartment during the relevant years, either within the Republic of Moldova or abroad.
