CSE amended the mechanism for monitoring the activity of persons included in the US sanctions list

The Commission for Emergency Situations has introduced new mechanisms for monitoring the activity of individuals and legal entities, included in the list of US sanctions. The transactions of these persons, as well as of persons affiliated with those on the sanctions list, will be blocked for a period of five days.

We remind you that on October 26 last year, after Great Britain and the Ministry of Finance of the United States imposed sanctions on the Moldovan oligarchs Vladimir Plahotniuc and Ilan Șor "for actions related to systemic corruption and interference in the elections in Moldova, supported by the Kremlin". Apart from the two, seven other people and 12 entities are targeted.

Then, the head of state Maia Sandu is confident that these findings of the legal bodies in the USA will serve as an example for the judiciary in the Republic of Moldova. On the other hand, Ilan Șor declared that the imposed sanctions do not affect him, and Vlad Plahotniuc announced his intention to return to politics, something that has not happened yet.
