Traffic resumed: Trucks can cross the state border through the Giurgiulesti-Reni customs

Circulation for heavy vehicles through the Giurgiulești-Reni border crossing was resumed on Sunday, January 29, the Border Police announced. Similarly, according to the information received from the Ukrainian authorities, the traffic for trucks was also resumed on the "Reni-Odessa" route in Ukraine.

The border police recommend drivers to continue to take weather warnings into account and to set off on the road only if they have ensured that they have equipped their vehicle for winter conditions.

We remind you that on Saturday, January 28, the Ukrainian authorities restricted the access to enter Ukraine for high-tonnage means of transport, through the Giurgiulești-Reni border crossing point, due to the heavy snow, snow on the roads, and the skidding of some trucks.

In this context, in order not to block the road between the Giurgiulești-Galați and Giurgiulești-Reni crossing points, in coordination with their Romanian counterparts, the Moldovan authorities took the decision not to allow trucks from Romania to enter the country and, subsequently, transit the territory of the Republic of Moldova to Ukraine.
