The term "blue" in the name does not refer to a change in colour but indicates that this is the second full moon within the same calendar month—an exceptionally rare occurrence.

On the evening of August 19, the sky over the Republic of Moldova will be illuminated by this extraordinary moon, offering a unique visual spectacle for all who gaze upward.
