CEC urges Moldovan expats to get certified for electoral boards
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) urges citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing abroad to participate in the certification exam for training or specialisation in the electoral field.
By doing so, they have the opportunity to become members of the electoral boards at polling stations overseas.
Those interested in taking the exam must complete the form available at the following link: https://forms.gle/te25Yhs6Z1P46bfc6. Detailed information about the exam will then be sent to the email address provided in the form.
To assist candidates in their preparation, the following resources are available:
The question bank published on the CICDE website, which includes a collection of questions from the normative framework, along with answers and legal references to the Constitution, the Electoral Code, related laws, regulations, and instructions adopted by the Central Electoral Commission.
A complete list of normative acts with access links is available in the document containing the bibliography for the exam.
The certification exam will last 30 minutes. During this time, candidates will take a multiple-choice test consisting of 30 randomly selected questions from the question bank. To pass, candidates must answer 21 of the 30 questions correctly.
Exams are held from May 20 to September 15.
Additional information about electoral certification can be found at: https://cicde.md/2024/02/certificare/.
According to the new Electoral Code, individuals must hold valid qualification certificates, issued by the Center for Continuous Training in the Electoral Field, to be designated as members of the polling station’s electoral board. According to the transitional provisions of the Electoral Code, individuals who have previously worked in electoral bodies are considered certified until December 31, 2024.
To become a member of the electoral board at a polling station abroad, a person must be nominated by an appointing authority (such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a political party represented in Parliament) or by the Central Electoral Commission, if the person is listed in the register of electoral officials.
