Ulianovschi, Usatîi, and Vlah submit presidential bids
Three initiative groups that will collect signatures in support of presidential candidates have submitted their registration documents to the Central Electoral Commission today by 12 o'clock.
The first submission was made by the initiative group backing Tudor Ulianovschi, who is a candidate for president. The former Minister of Foreign Affairs announced in a press conference yesterday that the group comprises 76 members.
Last evening, the National Council of the Political Party Our Party designated Renato Usatîi, the leader of the party, as their candidate for the presidential elections. The initiative group then submitted their registration documents to the Central Electoral Commission today.
Additionally, Irina Vlah, the former governor of Gagauzia, formed her own initiative group to support her presidential campaign. This group also submitted their registration documents to the Central Electoral Commission today.
Yesterday marked the beginning of the period for designating candidates for the presidency of the Republic of Moldova and for registering initiative groups that will collect signatures in support of these candidates. The Central Electoral Commission received the first five submissions on Wednesday, August 21, and has three days to review them.
