Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian pays a working visit to Georgia
Moldovan-Georgian cooperation relations, the reform agenda implemented by the Moldovan and Georgian authorities and the regional security context are being discussed in Tbilisi. Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian met in the Georgian capital with Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Tea Akhvlediani, Georgian Minister for Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Zurab Azarashvili and Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia Tibor Kozma.
In Tbilisi, the officials also reviewed Moldova's sustained efforts to settle the Transnistrian conflict peacefully and other issues of mutual interest, reads a Chisinau government statement.
"Particular attention was paid to the regional security context and the management of current risks and vulnerabilities, mainly related to the war in Ukraine and support measures for Ukrainian refugees, as well as the need to continue the inter-institutional dialogue on issues related to the peaceful and sustainable settlement of the conflicts on the territories of the Republic of Moldova and Georgia," the Executive announced.
The Moldovan delegation, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian, paid a visit to the town of Odzisi, near the "Line of Contact" with the Tbilisi-occupied/uncontrolled territories.
The Parties agreed to continue active interaction, exchanging best practices in the field of reintegration policies in the areas of uncontrolled territories and identifying ways of mutual support on the matter.
Deputy Prime Minister Serebrian's visit to Tbilisi follows the invitation of the Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, Tea Akhvlediani, and is taking place from 30 to 31 January this year. The delegation from Chisinau is composed of Ruslan Bolbocean, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and Eugen Cara, Deputy Head of the Reintegration Policy Office.
