NATO warns Russia amid Polish airspace violations
NATO has stated that it does not have any information indicating that the unidentified object that violated Polish airspace on Monday was part of a deliberate Russian attack.
Moscow has intensified its air strikes with missiles and drones against Ukraine, targeting the country's energy infrastructure.
Additionally, NATO has warned Russia that such incidents are irresponsible and potentially dangerous, the Alliance's spokesperson said, as quoted by EFE.
Poland announced on Monday that an object, likely a drone, had entered its airspace during Russia's massive attacks on Ukraine and strongly condemned these extensive attacks against Ukrainian civilians and civilian infrastructure.
A similar incident occurred in December. A year earlier, in November 2022, two Poles were killed by a Ukrainian missile that accidentally hit a border village. It was the first incident involving the territory of a NATO country.
The Alliance has significantly increased its presence on its eastern flank, including in Poland, in response to Russia's war against Ukraine.
