Moldova education sector sees 15% boost in young specialists this year

The number of young specialists choosing to work in schools, starting from September 1, has increased by 15% compared to the previous year, Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun announced at a press conference.

According to Perciun, the ministry's policies—including the doubling of scholarships for pedagogy students, salary increases for teachers, and the adoption of a law to protect teaching staff—have proven effective.

"Attracting young professionals has been a major priority. We are pleased to report that we have the highest number of young graduates from pedagogy assigned to teaching positions in recent years, currently totaling 407. We anticipate a few more contracts before the start of the academic year. It is becoming increasingly attractive for pedagogy students to join our educational system. We have visited universities and pedagogical colleges, encouraged the students, and appreciate their positive response to our call," stated Dan Perciun.

Additionally, Dan Perciun noted that the number of students enrolled in dual education has risen by 54 percent. Similarly, there has been a 10 percent increase in the number of students admitted to universities this year.
