CEC: Over 3.2 million citizens with the right to vote, registered in the State Register of Voters
The total number of voters registered in the State Register of Voters, on February 1, 2023, is 3,294,376, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announces. Most voters, according to the cited source, more than 647 thousand, are in the municipality of Chisinau.
The top of the districts with the most citizens with the right to vote continues with the Gagauz autonomy - over 129 thousand and the municipality of Balti - over 100 thousand. At the opposite pole are the districts of Basarabeasca, where almost 24 thousand voters are registered; Dubăsari, with over 28 thousand voters or Dondușeni with over 31 thousand citizens with the right to vote are registered. According to the CEC, a total of almost 270,000 citizens with the right to vote are registered on the left bank of the Nistru. At the same time, over 258 thousand people, according to the cited source, hold the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, but do not have a home registration or residence. This category includes people who have emigrated authorized abroad.
