The Republic of Moldova will receive military equipment from Germany. In this regard, the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission approved the advisory opinion to initiate negotiations and the signing of an Agreement between the Government of Chisinau and that of Germany.

The assistance program will target several projects for our country, including training and equipping with mobile campaign equipment, with unmanned aerial vehicles and the modernization of medical points.

Likewise, a technical maintenance center will be built, some rooms for storing ammunition will be renovated, and a unique IT network will be created at the National Army.

This program does not provide for arms and ammunition supplies or ongoing training. The management of these projects will be ensured by an advisory group that will include representatives of the German armed forces, who will be deployed in the Republic of Moldova for a period of four years. The German Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be responsible for financing the projects, and the German Federal Ministry of Defense - for the deployment of advisory teams.

After signing, the Agreement will be proposed for ratification in the plenary session of the Parliament. Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Federal Republic of Germany in the military field began in 2003, when an Agreement was signed. Previously, the German Government established the Program of advice, training and assistance with equipment for foreign armed forces, intended to support the development of the military capabilities of the partner states.
