More citizens will benefit from help for the cold period of the year
The draft law regarding the modification of the conditions for granting social aid and aid for the cold period of the year was approved, in the first reading, with 80 votes of the deputies.
The purpose of the legislative initiative is to increase the multiplier for the guaranteed minimum monthly income. Therefore, more citizens will be able to benefit from this social benefit. At the same time, the project involves extending the decision-making period by 20 working days. For the year 2023, almost 220 thousand beneficiaries of aid for the payment of this benefit were estimated. For this purpose, financial means of over 770 million lei were provided. The draft law is to be voted on in the second reading.
