Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița will be on a working visit to Brussels from today until 8 February, where she will participate in the 7th meeting of the EU-Moldova Association Council. For the first time, Moldova will be present at this event as a candidate country for accession to the European Union.
"The evolution of Moldova-EU relations will be discussed in Brussels, with emphasis on political dialogue and reforms; economic and sectoral cooperation, including energy, trade, as well as cooperation in the field of foreign and security policy," reads a statement issued by the Executive.
On 6-7 February, the PM will also hold a series of bilateral meetings with officials from the European institutions, according to the source.
The meeting of the EU-Moldova Association Council will be held on 7 February and will be chaired by Natalia Gavrilița, and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, Vice-President of the European Commission.
Besides topics on the bilateral agenda, the Association Council will also discuss regional challenges, such as the impact of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The resolution of the Transnistrian conflict will be another topic on the agenda.
The Moldovan delegation to the Association Council meeting will also consist of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu, Minister of Economy Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Justice Sergiu Litvinenco, Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea and State Secretary in the State Chancellery Adrian Băluțel.
