Deputies about the national defense strategy of the Republic of Moldova for 2024-2034
The national defense strategy of the Republic of Moldova for 2024-2034 presented today by the Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, in the plenary session of the Parliament, sparked acid replies between deputies. The dispute highlighted the differences of opinion regarding the country's neutrality and the qualification of the Russian Federation as an aggressor state. The Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatîi, said that "Russia wants to prevent our country from defending its national interests, as well as to reduce the state's capacity to promote its strategic objectives". On the other hand, the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Vlad Bătrîncea, said that "these voluntarist interpretations are ridiculous, but also dangerous".
