Military staff and their family members will benefit from more social guarantees

The contract soldiers of the National Army will benefit from more social guarantees, after the deputies voted in the second reading the project to improve the normative framework regarding the status of the military, informs the Parliament in a statement.

The document stipulates that the period of being on partially paid leave to care for the child up to the age of three will be included in the seniority of the military service. Also, contract military staff, in addition to paternity leave, will have the right to leave in case of adopting newborn children or taking them under guardianship.

Also, contract servicemen of the Armed Forces will be entitled to travel free of charge in all types of local/municipal road transport, except for taxis.

Another provision relates to the fact that they will have the right to participate, within the military structure in which they perform their military service, in development projects financed from external sources.
