Maia Sandu condemns Russia's airstrikes on Ukraine’s energy
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, strongly condemns Russia's large-scale airstrikes targeting energy infrastructure across Ukraine. Maia Sandu stated this on the X.com platform.
"I strongly condemn Russia's large-scale airstrikes on energy infrastructure throughout Ukraine. Using winter as a weapon to freeze a nation into submission is brutal and unacceptable. Moldova stands in solidarity with Ukraine," said Maia Sandu in her message.

Weaponising winter to freeze a nation into submission is cruel and unacceptable.
Moldova stands with Ukraine.
It should be noted that large-scale missile and drone attacks took place across several Ukrainian cities during the night and morning of November 17, including Kyiv.
Following the attacks, both electricity and water were cut off in the city of Odessa, according to a statement from the authorities. In the Vinnytsia region, the power supply was also interrupted after strikes on critical infrastructure, the regional administration reported, as cited by the BBC.
In the Rivne region, the target of the attack was a critical infrastructure facility, and efforts to gradually restore electricity and water supply are underway. Energy infrastructure was also impacted in the Volyn region, which is less frequently targeted by Russia compared to other parts of Ukraine.
In the Lviv region, debris fell onto garages. Emergency power outages were also enforced in the Poltava and Chernihiv regions.
According to Moldelectrica, no electricity consumers in the Republic of Moldova have been affected by the attacks in Ukraine.
