The rescuers received information about the intervention areas, but also the actions to be carried out. Our country's team of specialists formed two working groups. The first group conducts the reconnaissance mission and search for casualties, and the second group sets up a fully operational field camp.
The rescuers will be active 24 hours a day, and to be efficient they will use the heavy equipment provided, but also the specialized equipment. Moreover, two rescue dogs will be trained for search work.
We remind you that on the morning of February 8, the specialized team from the Republic of Moldova managed to cross the border with Turkey. At the border they were met by the officials of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD), who directed our rescuers to Hatay province on the border with Syria, one of the most affected areas by the earthquake.
In order to reach their destination, the IGSU employees continued their uninterrupted journey, which was hampered by unfavorable weather conditions.
