Nicu Popescu: Several attempts to hijack the European course of the Republic of Moldova have failed
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nicu Popescu, claims that last year there were several attempts to hijack the European course of the Republic of Moldova, including through paid protests. The attempts failed because Moldovan citizens want a prosperous life, in a stable state - part of the European family, the head of diplomacy from Chisinau emphasized on his Facebook page.
"During the past year we have witnessed failed attempts to destabilize the government and the course of European integration, including through paid protests. All these attempts failed because our citizens firmly say that they want to live in democracy, peace and prosperity, as a future member country of the European Union", said Nicu Popescu.
The head of Moldovan diplomacy added that, in the external dialogue, the Chisinau authorities are guided by the "priority of strengthening resilience" and, in this sense, fight against disinformation and advocate for the support of the free media. "We are prioritizing the eradication of corruption, investing in energy and economic resilience and modernizing the security and defense sector", Nicu Popescu wrote in his post.
