Expert: This year's parliamentary elections are a real challenge for Moldova
This year's parliamentary elections are a real challenge for Moldova. The statement was made by international relations expert Robert Lupițu on Moldova 1's program Diplomatic Dimension. In this regard, the expert says that the authorities must ensure that the European course remains safe and that the European money coming to our country is directed to the needs of the population.
"In the Republic of Moldova we have very important parliamentary elections to ensure that the European path remains on the right track. It is very important that when very soon the European Union will give the final green light to the €1.8 billion growth plan, that this money in three installments of €600 million per year is seen in the economy. There is an urgent need to address possible social shortcomings, which can be very easily manipulated by disinformation campaigns and directed towards a failure of political leadership," said Robert Lupițu.
The expert pointed that Romania has elections this spring and is facing an unprecedented disinformation campaign.
"The main challenges on both sides of the Prut are primarily related to the democratic and electoral component. Romania has not finalized an electoral cycle and a cycle of defining its leadership after those external interferences and attempts to manipulate the presidential election campaign. It is clear that from this viewpoint, if we look at the macroeconomic performance and the economic stability of both countries, we are looking at Romania, which needs European investments and foreign direct investments", said Lupițu.
