Kremlin reacts to the statements of President Maia Sandu: "Russia does not represent a threat to the security of the Republic of Moldova"
Russia rejects President Maia Sandu's statements about a possible Kremlin plan to destabilize the situation in Chisinau. According to a press release of the Russian Foreign Ministry, "such claims are unfounded and are built in the spirit of classical techniques that are often used by the United States, other Western countries and Ukraine."
Moreover, the source notes that Russia does not represent a threat to the security of the Republic of Moldova, but is based on the development of mutually beneficial and equal bilateral cooperation.
"We appeal to the Moldovan authorities to finally show state spirit, not to give in to challenges from outside and to be guided in their actions by the interests of the citizens of their country, by understanding the great advantages that stable friendly relations can bring to the Republic of Moldova with Russia", reads the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
We remind you that the president of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, spoke yesterday during a briefing about the plans of the Russian Federation to destabilize the Republic of Moldova. The head of state said that documents were received from Ukrainian partners, which imply the organization of several subversive activities.
"Through violent actions, masked under protests of the so-called opposition, the change of power in Chisinau would be forced. The documents received from our Ukrainian partners demonstrate a good documentation of the locations and logistical aspects for the organization of these subversive activities. Also, the plan involves the use of people from outside the country for violent actions", declared the head of state.
President Maia Sandu assured that the state institutions are working to prevent these challenges and that the situation is under control. Also, she requested all state institutions to show maximum vigilance.
