The degrees of energy vulnerability will be reviewed

58% of the population of the Republic of Moldova requested compensation for the consumption of gas, electricity and thermal energy, and almost 80% will benefit from maximum aid from the state. People who failed to submit an application by November 24 will automatically receive, for a single month, the medium vulnerability category. However, if they do not apply for compensation even in December, those households will be assigned the category of low vulnerability.

The president of the Parliamentary Committee for Social Protection, Health and Family, Dan Perciun, noted that 1,500 families indicated in their applications that they did not want to benefit from compensation. Therefore, they will be able to review their data originally included on the site. He also announces that requests that raise questions, either to the gas volumes or to the indicated revenues, will be further analysed for the assignment of the appropriate category of energy vulnerability.

"The system works in such a way that it checks the income of the people included in the application. They are citizens who declared that they have zero income. The state knows that they have zero income, but they have a consumption of 10,000 lei, respectively at this stage for the month of November they will be included in the category, but it is possible that for the month of December we will decide a little differently", declares Dan Perciun , president of the Social Protection Commission.

According to the Minister of Labor, Marcel Spatari, there are also people who did not know about the platform, did not have a computer or did not contact the social worker and, thus, did not manage to complete the application. These people will be able to register for one month to receive compensation.

"Around 40% of the population has not registered on the platform. Starting with the invoice for the month of December, starting from the following month, those who will not register even in December will have the category of low vulnerability, and it is not excluded that compensations will no longer be offered to those who do not register", said Marcel Backrests.

Citizens can register on the compensatii.gov.md until March 2023 to determine the categories of vulnerability and to benefit from compensation in energy bills.

The state reserved five billion lei to compensate the population for gas, electricity and heat consumption, the amount being double compared to last year.
